Why I Love Aquarium Plants

Keeping fish in an aquarium is a lot of fun. But keeping plants is a challenge. As long as you’re not into super exotic fish, its not hard to care for them perfectly. You feed them, provide clean warm water and you’re good to go.

With aquarium plants it’s different. Aquatic plants die when something isn’t as they like it. There are factors like fertilizer, CO2, temperature, pH, flow and lighting. Quite difficult!

Over the years I have sadly killed quite some aquarium plants. BUT: I learned something every time it went wrong. And through experience, trial and error and learning from others I improved.

You start to understand that not every plant is difficult. If you choose your plants wisely, even a beginner can have an enjoyable experience growing plants under water. I own a small website that shares information on aquarium plants: Aquarium Genius. It’s not that I’m an aquarium genius. It’s a place where people can learn and slowly become an aquarium genius.

I have composed a list of plants which I think are suitable for beginners. If you are interested too, you can find that list here: https://aquariumgenius.com/best-aquarium-plants-for-beginners/
